How We Met
The Bride
A short snippet about the bride.
Yelena Salyuk was born in Ukraine, and grew up in Portland, OR. Yelena comes from a large family and while she’s her parent’s first daughter, she is the fifth born of eight children.
She works in the natural sweetener industry as the Financial Controller. Yelena’s hobbies include: stressing out Tristan and playing golf on the weekends. Yelena went to Slavic Ministry Bible School and Portland State University, she has a Masters in Finance.
The Groom
Yelena and Tristan met when they were attending Centennial High School in 2014 during an electective P.E. class. Instagram was the hot new thing at that time so they followed each other shortly after their first conversation. Nearly a decade later the two reconnected for the first time since that conversation in High School and immediately fell for each other. They went on their first date just a few days later and the rest is history.

Tristan Gastelum was born and raised in Portland, OR. After High School Tristan enlisted in the Army and served over 9 years in Active Duty and the Oregon National Guard. Now he bottles wine for a living, travelling to different wineries across the Willamette Valley. Tristan’s hobbies are working on his motorcycle, gardening, and stressing out Yelena with his Motorcycle.
